Dental Veneers Cost London | From £547.50 Per Tooth | South Kensington

Transparent dental veneers cost in London: Porcelain from £1,095 (Member £547.50), Composite from £595 (Member £297.50) per tooth. Written quote before treatment. CQC-regulated, GDC-registered. Call 020 7183 0755.

If you are researching the cost of dental veneers in London, a single headline price rarely tells the whole story. The fee for a veneer case depends on the material chosen (porcelain or composite), the number of teeth being treated, the complexity of the design, and any preparatory work needed beforehand. At Cosmetic Dentistry Clinic in South Kensington (SW7), our per-tooth fees are openly published, every plan is confirmed in writing before any treatment begins, and veneers are provided exclusively by GDC-registered dentists in our CQC-regulated clinic.

How much do dental veneers cost in London?

At Cosmetic Dentistry Clinic, veneers are charged per tooth:

  • Porcelain Veneer (E.max): from £1,095 per tooth (Privilege Member: from £547.50)
  • Composite Veneer (direct chairside): from £595 per tooth (Privilege Member: from £297.50)
  • Cosmetic consultation: £95 (refundable against treatment for Members)
  • Wax-up & trial smile (optional, porcelain): £250 standard / included or reduced for Members

Any X-rays, gum-health work, or whitening required before veneers are charged separately. All fees are confirmed in writing before treatment begins.

Dental Veneer Fees in Detail

Veneers are priced per tooth because each tooth contributes its own clinical time, laboratory cost (for porcelain), material, and finishing. The fee structure below is fully transparent — you pay only for the teeth actually treated and the components included in your written plan.

Service Standard Fee Privilege Member Fee
Porcelain Veneer (E.max) (per tooth)Hand-layered ceramic, lab-fabricated, two visits from £1,095 from £547.50
Composite Veneer (per tooth)Direct chairside resin, sculpted in a single visit from £595 from £297.50
Cosmetic ConsultationIncludes photographs, smile analysis, written quote £95 £47.50
Wax-up & Trial Smile (optional)Preview your "after" before any tooth preparation £250 Included / Reduced
Diagnostic X-rays (per X-ray, if clinically indicated)Charged separately, never bundled into the headline price £20 £10

Fees correct at time of publication and may be reviewed periodically. "From £" indicates the starting fee for a typical case; complex cases are quoted individually in writing before any treatment begins. The Privilege Member rate is available to members of our Privilege Programme (from £20 per month); membership is not required to receive treatment.

Indicative Total Cost by Case Size

Most veneer enquiries are about a full "social smile" — typically 6, 8, or 10 upper front teeth. The table below shows indicative totals so you can quickly compare the likely investment. These are starting figures; your written plan will give your exact total.

Case Size Porcelain — Standard Porcelain — Member Composite — Member
1 tooth (single chip or asymmetry) from £1,095 from £547.50 from £297.50
2 teeth (central incisors) from £2,190 from £1,095 from £595
4 teeth (the "selfie smile") from £4,380 from £2,190 from £1,190
6 teeth (most common smile-line case) from £6,570 from £3,285 from £1,785
8 teeth (broader social smile) from £8,760 from £4,380 from £2,380
10 teeth (full upper "Hollywood" arch) from £10,950 from £5,475 from £2,975

Indicative figures only — your exact total depends on clinical complexity, choice of ceramist, any preparatory treatment (whitening, hygiene, gum work), and whether a wax-up and trial smile are included. Final fees are confirmed in writing before treatment begins.

What Determines Your Final Fee?

Two patients with what looks like the same smile concern can have meaningfully different quotes. The honest reasons for that variation are clinical, not commercial:

1. Number of teeth treated

Veneers are priced per tooth. Treating 4 teeth costs roughly half of treating 8 teeth. We never recommend more teeth than are clinically and aesthetically necessary.

2. Material chosen

Porcelain (E.max) is lab-fabricated, hand-layered, and longer-lasting (10–15+ years typically). Composite is direct, single-visit, and lower cost, but has a shorter typical lifespan (5–7 years).

3. Pre-treatment required

Active decay, gum inflammation, or worn enamel must be addressed first. Whitening lower teeth before placing upper veneers is sometimes recommended to match shade.

4. Wax-up & trial smile

Many porcelain cases include a diagnostic wax-up and an in-mouth trial smile so you can preview the "after" before any prep. This adds value but also has a cost; it is optional and disclosed up front.

5. Complexity of the design

Closing a noticeable gap, lengthening worn edges, masking dark intrinsic staining, or correcting tooth rotation through veneer design takes more chairside and lab time than a simple shade refresh.

6. Membership status

Privilege Programme members (from £20/month) receive Member rates on clinical fees. Membership is optional and we always quote both the Standard and Member figures so you can compare honestly.

What's Included in the Per-Tooth Fee

Included in the veneer fee

  • Clinical time with a GDC-registered dentist
  • Local anaesthetic where required
  • The veneer material itself (E.max porcelain or composite resin)
  • Bonding cement and shade-matched finishing
  • Final polish and bite check at fit appointment
  • One short review appointment after fit

Charged separately

  • Initial cosmetic consultation (£95 / Member £47.50)
  • Diagnostic X-rays (£20 standard / £10 Member, if clinically required)
  • Wax-up & trial smile (£250 standard; included/reduced for Members)
  • Teeth whitening (if needed to match shade)
  • Hygiene therapy or gum treatment before veneers
  • Night guard if you grind your teeth (strongly recommended)
  • Replacement veneers in the future (typically 10–15+ years for porcelain)

Porcelain vs Composite: Honest Cost Comparison

The cheaper option per tooth is not always the cheaper option per decade. Here is a balanced view so you can decide what fits your case:

Factor Composite Veneer Porcelain Veneer
Member fee per tooth from £297.50 from £547.50
Typical lifespan 5–7 years 10–15+ years
Appointments Usually one Two (prep + fit)
Tooth preparation Minimal or none 0.3–0.5 mm (irreversible)
Stain resistance Moderate (can stain over time) Very high (glazed ceramic)
Repair if chipped Usually repairable chairside Typically replacement of the veneer

Lifespan ranges are general estimates; actual longevity depends on bite, oral hygiene, grinding/clenching habits, and attendance at hygiene appointments. We do not guarantee a specific lifespan for any restoration.

What Veneers Will — and Won't — Do

A clear expectation of outcomes is part of compliant cosmetic dentistry. Here is the honest version:

Veneers can typically:

  • Improve the shade of front teeth, including intrinsic stains that don't respond to whitening
  • Close small to moderate gaps between teeth
  • Reshape chipped, worn, or asymmetrical teeth
  • Mask mild rotations and minor crowding
  • Lengthen short or worn edges to restore a more youthful smile line

Veneers are not a substitute for:

  • Orthodontics where teeth are significantly rotated or crowded — alignment first usually gives a better, more conservative result
  • Implants or bridges where a tooth is missing
  • Gum treatment where there is active inflammation or recession
  • Crowns where structural tooth loss is extensive

If alignment, whitening, or bonding will give you a better result with less tooth removal, we will tell you. We routinely decline to place veneers where they are not the most appropriate option.

How Your Written Veneer Quote Is Prepared

Step 1 — Cosmetic consultation (£95)

A GDC-registered dentist examines your teeth, gums, and bite, takes intra-oral photographs, and discusses your aesthetic goals.

Step 2 — Smile analysis & options

We explain the realistic options — which may include composite, porcelain, alignment-first, whitening-only, or no treatment — and the pros, cons, risks, and costs of each.

Step 3 — Written treatment plan & quote

You receive a written, itemised plan showing the proposed number of teeth, material, fees, and any pre-treatment required. Standard and Member fees are both shown.

Step 4 — Trial smile (optional, porcelain cases)

For multi-tooth porcelain cases, we offer a wax-up and in-mouth trial smile so you can preview the design — and decline or refine it — before any tooth preparation.

Ways to Pay

Pay as you go

Risks & Limitations You Should Know

In line with GDC and ASA standards, we do not present cosmetic procedures as risk-free. Before agreeing to veneers you should understand:

  • Porcelain prep is irreversible. A thin layer of enamel is removed (typically 0.3–0.5 mm). Once prepared, the tooth will always need a veneer, crown, or similar restoration.
  • Sensitivity. Mild temperature sensitivity for a few days after prep is common; rarely it can persist and need further treatment.
  • Chipping and debonding. Veneers can chip or come off, particularly under heavy biting forces or grinding. A night guard is strongly recommended if you grind.
  • Composite staining and wear. Composite veneers can pick up stain from coffee, red wine, and tobacco and may need polishing or top-ups over time.
  • Gum recession. Over years, gums may recede and a margin may become visible; this sometimes leads to replacement for aesthetic reasons.
  • Not always the best option. If alignment, whitening, or bonding would give a better and more conservative result, we will recommend that instead — even if the veneer fee would have been higher.

How much do 6 veneers cost?

A 6-tooth porcelain veneer case starts from £5,100 standard (Privilege Member: from £2,550). For 6 composite veneers, Member pricing starts from £1,785. Your exact total depends on case complexity and any pre-treatment required.

How much do 8 veneers cost?

8 porcelain veneers start from £6,800 standard (Member: from £3,400). 8 composite veneers start from £2,380 for Members. A written quote is provided after your consultation.

How much do 10 veneers cost (a full smile)?

A full upper "Hollywood" arch of 10 porcelain veneers starts from £8,500 standard (Privilege Member: from £4,250). Larger cases sometimes warrant a wax-up and trial smile, quoted separately.

Is the consultation included in the veneer fee?

The cosmetic consultation (£95 standard / £47.50 Member) is charged separately. For Privilege Members, the consultation fee is fully refundable against treatment if you proceed.

Is there a cheaper alternative to veneers?

Yes, depending on your case. Composite bonding (from £197.50/tooth for Members), teeth whitening, or short-term orthodontics can sometimes deliver the result you want at lower cost and with less tooth removal. We will tell you honestly.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Eligible veneer plans can be spread over 12 months at 0% APR Representative through our FCA-authorised finance partner. Longer terms with interest are also available. Subject to status.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers typically last 10–15+ years and composite 5–7 years, depending on bite, oral hygiene, grinding habits, and attendance at hygiene appointments. Individual results vary; we do not guarantee a specific lifespan for any restoration.

Are veneers covered by the NHS?

Veneers for purely cosmetic reasons are not available under the NHS. Our veneers are provided privately. If you have a clinical need that may qualify for NHS care, we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Will I need to whiten my lower teeth first?

Sometimes, yes. If the upper veneers will be brighter than your natural lower teeth, we usually recommend whitening the lowers first so the overall smile looks balanced. This is quoted separately, never bundled into the veneer fee.

Why are some London clinics so much cheaper?

Lower headline prices often reflect overseas labs, less chairside time, shorter consultations, or no wax-up/trial smile. We are transparent about what is included and what is not. Cost should always be compared on a like-for-like basis.
