Imaging: Why an OPG May Be Needed

For most lower wisdom teeth — and some upper ones — a panoramic X-ray (OPG) is recommended. Where this imaging is needed, we refer to a trusted local dental imaging centre.

Imaging fee: The OPG fee of £60 is paid directly to Dental Imaging Centre. We do not mark up imaging fees. Your dentist will review the resulting image as part of your assessment and discuss the findings with you in plain language.

Anaesthesia: What's Included, What Isn't

All wisdom tooth extractions at our clinic are performed under local anaesthetic only, which is included in the extraction fee. The cost of any additional injections needed for full numbness is also covered.

We do not provide intravenous (IV) sedation, conscious sedation, or general anaesthetic in-house. If your case is best managed with sedation or hospital-based care, we will discuss referral to a specialist oral surgery service. Where sedation or general anaesthetic is used elsewhere, those fees are set by the specialist provider and are not included in our quote. You may also be eligible for wisdom tooth extraction on the NHS, particularly where removal is clinically necessary. We are a private dental clinic and do not offer NHS treatment. The choice between NHS and private care is yours, and we are happy to set out the differences honestly:

• NHS wisdom tooth extraction is charged at the standard NHS Band 2 fee where eligible, or Band 3 if a more complex procedure is provided in a hospital setting. NHS waiting times and eligibility vary.
